A123 Systems
Waltham, which produces lithium-ion phosphate batteries, announced on Thursday an agreement with BAE Systems to provide the Company with additional battery packs for propulsion Systems designed for urban bus Systems around the world.
A123 has been providing battery packs for BAE for five years.
At present, around the world, including London and New York, about 3,000 buses using the BAE propulsion system are running.
The agreement announced on Thursday required A123 to provide an additional battery pack for BAE.
However, the number of these packages and the dollar value of the agreement with A123 have not yet been disclosed. (
