47 Metrobuses being recalled, will stay in operation while companies work on retrofit - electrical energy storage systems
According to Metro chief spokesman Dan Stessel, the hybrid bus manufactured by the New Flyer "has the potential for a power shortage in the energy storage system ".
He said that the subway received a notice from the New Flyer on the bus defect last week, and he said that the new biography submitted a recall notice to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Metro has been "certified" by BAE Systems, which makes the energy storage system in buses and new flyers for safe use of buses, and they will continue to operate, Stessel said.
