Located in Cremzow, Brandenburg, Germany.
The system, with a total investment of about 17 million euros, supports the stability of the German power network by providing frequency regulation services to the country's main control reserves (PCR)market.

"Cremzow BESS provides a real power grid
The time-level frequency regulation service that contributes to its stability.
When the frequency of the power grid is reduced due to high power demand, the battery can provide its stored energy within 30 seconds, and because of the low demand, the frequency will increase and the battery is full of the remaining energy.
In addition, the possibility of integrating BESS with ENERTRAG wind farm is currently being studied, using wind energy surplus to charge the battery and avoid reducing losses.
BESS is owned by a special purpose vehicle (SPV)
Among them, EGP Germanyholds holds a majority stake of 90%, while ENERTRAG holds the remaining 10%.

The German PCR market has developed a lot in recent years, with the auction of about 600 MW of FCR in early 2017, attracting bidders from Austria, Belgium, France, the Netherlands and Switzerland, thus confirmingborder appeal.
As at May 2019, the PCR capacity submitted in Germany was 605 MW.
The introduction of battery storage systems is an important development in the German PCR market: in 2017, BESS provided approximately 200 MW of PCR, equivalent to 31% of the market.
