How to choose a better battery bank (and keep your smartphone on) - where can i buy lithium batteries
There are battery packs of all shapes and sizes: from lipstick to cats, if you like something that looks like something else.
But cheap and small ones aren't usually good: Make sure you read the extra-large amps (mAh) as it tells you how much the battery can charge.
The latest smartphone has a bigger battery than their predecessor, which means the old battery bank (and their claim for how much they will charge you) is a bit out of date.
The capacity of the mobile phone varies, but compared with the past year or so, the capacity of the flagship mobile phone of most big brands is about 3 thousand mAh.
There will be more mobile phones next year. And so on.
To really make sure you don't have to commute without a beloved screen, you should get something and give your phone some cost.
Unless it's in your wallet, don't bother to buy something below 3,000 mAh, you just have to remember to charge after each use and you will of course forget.
10,000 mAh is respectable and you can get one in the store for around 30 euros or cheaper from eBay or Amazon online.
If you can spend more and wait for delivery, you can get up to 30,000 mAh, enough for the whole family not to have eye contact for a few days.
But before you buy, check the size and weight, otherwise you may drag a brick around because of "30,000 better than 20,000.
If you're going to buy from Amazon, there's a hurdle: the new rules limit shipping items including lithium batteries to Ireland.
We Irish are no stranger to the label "not passing on to Ireland.
There is a solution-
For example, the Northern Ireland address is provided using the parcel service.
Unfortunately, this does not work in case of battery limitation.
Amazon will not offer lithium batteries to NI either.
But there is a workaround: post like the package service you may have used, but provide the address of the UK mainland.
It is slower than other services: Delivered within four to five business days, but it may be worth it if the product is delivered free of charge in the UK.
If this is too confusing, buy from an Irish website or store: Keep in mind that a lot of things on the street have low capacity.
If it doesn't say mAh, let's say it's slow.
Check the bank's output and equipment needs before purchasing, especially if you want to charge devices such as tablets or laptops.
1 amp is not enough for tablets-
It will also be slow to charge your phone-
So, check if there is USB 2. 0 or better.
But you don't need to buy a bank that says it has been approved for your specific model or brand.
Some of the more powerful banks can even charge their laptops at 30 w.
To check if this also means you, pick up the fat bit (adapter) of the laptop charger and read the small font.
If it says 30 W or less, (this is the output of the battery bank you are looking at) you are doing business.
Other features you might like are newer ports like USB Type-
C, Apple's Lightning port, Qualcomm's fast charging (if your device is compatible) or Google's USB-PD.
