Re: the foreign minister welcomes Saudi teenagers to "Brave New Canada" in Toronto "(Jan. 12)
It was moving to see foreign minister Kristia Freeland welcome Rahaf Mohammed azunon as a refugee to Canada at the request of the United Nations.
I believe that now Canada will also consider opening its doors to girls from Uighur Chinese and Rohingya minorities, South Americans and others living in oppressive regimes, concentration camps and prisons for war, domestic abuse, ethnic cleansing and occupation.
I have no reason to doubt Freeland's sincerity in helping this young girl to live in Canadian security.
Let us not forget, however, that every year thousands of Canadian teenagers run away from home and many end up on the streets and are abused and exploited.
May Rahaf never find herself in this situation, and I am sure that Freeland will ensure her safety.
Rahaf will need consultation and support to face the cultural shock, especially when she is homesick, crying for her mother and missing her friends.
Obviously, all these changes will be overwhelming.
I pray that she will not be used for political purposes.
Being used by Islamists or her privacy is rated or tortured by media damage.
Canada has enough experience through boarding schools and foster families
The care system knows that even if abuse is suspected, separation from the family can cause trauma.
Those who help her must make sure that she will get along with her family when she is ready so that she can maintain her mental, social, spiritual and intellectual health.
Doing less is tantamount to betrayal.
Finally, my biggest concern is that she might be used as a pawn in a diplomatic war between Canada and Saudi Arabia.

Aboriginal people in Canada are ridiculous "settlers ".
In fact, the country was "settled" hundreds of years ago. The first non-
Indigenous residents will be classified as "settlers ".
"Their descendants will not.
In order to become a settler, you must consciously decide to move to a new land to settle.
Descendants were born on this settled land.
In any case, recognize and educate yourself about the injustices committed against our indigenous brothers and sisters in the past and now, and do your part in reconciliation.
But for God's sake, if there is no self, can we do this? flagellation?

I agree with the basic premise of the NDP leader Wab Kinew that "the government needs to address the root causes of addiction ".
"This is exactly what successful treatment programs and excellent consultants, therapists and elders do.
The root cause of each person is different, often complex, and intertwined with other lifestyle issues.
What I don't understand is the suggestion of "stay away from abstinence --
The harm of "going" education based on education model --
Strategy reduction.
"These things should not be mutually exclusive.
The education and treatment of addiction problems should include all the scope, because our clients tell us that there are very few meaningful things that one person does and things that help another person do.
Education should be all. encompassing.
Treatment, on the other hand, should be a customer-centred.
Many people involved in the treatment said they wanted and needed abstinence.
They can't solve their deep problems based on service
The question of sitting when they are still "in the question.

Long term service, whether residential or otherwise, allows painful treatment processes to begin in a safe and supportive environment.
Let's not give up.

We are reminded that this is not a country. to-

The free media did a good job of reporting the demonstrations of Portage and Main, but maybe some of the plumbing issues were not clear.
That is why development often undermines the traditional way of life.
The Indian Act resolved the conflict by authorizing a band of band members, and TransCanada wanted to negotiate with them when crossing indigenous lands.
TransCanada does not seem to know the difference between band councillors and traditional hereditary chiefs.
Natural resource development must be destroyed-
The identity of the resident?
Perhaps TransCanada can move around the area, although this may reduce the profit of the adventure.
Do people have to cut down trees and clean up the Earth in order to build a pipeline path?
Canada should be a leader in social and human change.
Perhaps, in projects that change the world, the external costs of LNG development must be increased.
Liquefied natural gas is just another fossil fuel that we know is warming the world.

Not just indigenous issues.
In the long run, it enables all of us to address the values we need for a better life.
I hope we can learn from the pipeline how to live a more just life.
I was very confused when I reviewed the whole dispute about oil and pipelines.
We tax the products we use because we have serious problems in marketing.
Because we can't seem to be able to send oil to the mountain with a pipeline, we are now going to burn more fossil fuels and ship the oil to the Rocky Mountains by rail or tanker. To what end?
So the oil is sent to the rest of the world to pollute?
Why does the government not engage with people in the automotive industry and come up with a way to improve electric vehicles and encourage them to use them?
Better batteries will help solve the biggest problem of wind and solar power generation: energy storage.
A hydropower line that provides the energy needed for vehicles in many of our remote communities will be a much better system than trying to ship millions of litres of fuel in dangerous roads and oceans.
Especially if specific communities can generate their own energy through wind towers or solar cells.
With this idea, we can easily deliver on our commitment to greenhouse gas emissions, which will do wonders for our economy here.
This will also make Canada a world leader in electric vehicle technology in the future.
If we don't ship large tankers loaded with millions of liters of oil through fragile ecosystems, our planet will be much better?
How long before a major leak in the Georgian Strait or the Gulf of the Holy SeaLawrence?
