lithium ion polymer battery Safety Precautions And Disposal Methods Of Polymer Batteries

Lithium polymer battery is a new rechargeable lithium-based battery.Lithium polymer is a lower cost, more stable lithium-ion cell. However, certain safety measures need to be followed when using this polymer battery. They are also called lipo cells.Safety precautions: never allow charging or discharging lithium batteries on combustible materials or close to combustible materials, includes paper, plastic, vinyl, carpet, leather, wood, in R/C model or allCar size.Don't pack in the pockets of any clothes.Do not let lithium batteries come into contact with moisture or water at any time.Do not store batteries near open flames or heaters.• Do not assemble lithium batteries or pre-assembleAssembled with other lithium battery/battery packs.Only qualified battery assembly companies should assemble or modify LiPo batteries.LiPo cells are not allowed to be punctured, especially by a screwdriver, T-Pin or hobby knifeDuring charging, discharging and storage, adequate ventilation is always provided around the LiPo battery. If the battery is overheating, put it in the fire immediately-Until cooling.Always store LiPo cells/packages in a safe location away from children. When handling lithium polymer batteries, be sure to remove metal objects such as watches, bracelets or rings from your hands.Accidentally touching the battery terminal to any such object may cause a short circuitSerious personal injury. In addition to safety measures, the disposal of lithium batteries also needs to be properly handled.Lithium-Polymer batteries are friendly to the environment, but there are still some things to remember. For safety reasons, lithium batteries should be fully discharged before disposal (however, if physically damaged, it is not recommended to discharge LiPo batteries before disposal --See below for details ).The battery must also be cooled before proceeding with the instructions.Treatment of LiPo cells and packaging: 1.Put the LiPo battery into the fire-A bucket or a bucket of sand.2.If any LiPo battery in the package is physically damaged, causing swelling of the battery or cracking or tearing of the battery foil cover, please do not discharge.3.Connect the battery to the LiPo charger.Set the discharge cut-off voltage to the lowest possible value and the current to 20 mA if possible. It is also possible to discharge by connecting the battery to the ESC/motor system and allowing the motor to run indefinitely until there is no power left, further causing the system to work.4.Discharge the battery until its voltage reaches 1.0 v or lower per cell.
