Norwegian power system selects lithium-ion batteries based on Corvus Energy-
The energy storage system for the ferry will be built by Havyard and operated by the Norwegian Fjord Line.
NES is responsible for the entire electrical system on the ferry.
The new ferry is scheduled to be delivered next year.
Corvus already has an energy system.
Called killer whale-
Operating on three fjord ferries, the two are designed to be similar to the two under construction.
The ferry, which is 111 long and can carry 120 cars, is fully powered by electricity.

Founded in 2009, Corvus has installed a large number of battery systems on ships converted to hybrid, in which motors are used to support internal combustion engines, typically for acceleration and manipulation.
Seaspan has converted two of its cargo ferries into hybrid propulsion, with the Corvus battery providing power.
