Make the most of your MoneyBatteries are needed if you want to buildthe-
Power grid solar home.
Because electricity can only be collected from the sun in a limited amount of time every day, electricity demand is usually 24 hours a day, we need a way to store energy, so when we need energy, it's right there.
When discussing the battery, the word "depth"
Cycle 'refers to the fact that they can be discharged in depth (80%)
Stick to this usage over and over again.
However, the battery structure is quite different because they are usually designed for a particular type of service.
If the battery is used in the motor-
At home, it may be called deep cycle batteries, but it is actually more like a car battery, but is designed for occasional deep cycle batteriescycle use.
By designing batteries for a specific type of service, manufacturers can be more competitive on the market in the city.
The problem for us is a term like "depth"
Bicycles are degraded and it is difficult to make the most cost-effective choices. True deep-
Circulating lead-acid batteries are ideal for storing power.
Some are designed specifically for alternative energy applications and will provide you with 20 years of service.
Other suppliers that are more price-competitive are much lower in cost. 7 years use.
One of the ways you can judge the durability of deep cycle batteries is to charge
Discharge cycle ratings for models you are interested in.
The manufacturer will have a spec sheet with a rating.
If the supplier does not know, you can usually look it up on their website.
With the calculator and a little bit of an idea, you can calculate well how long they will last.
Deep discharge shortens life.
Shallow discharge will lead to a longer life.
When you look at the specs, you will notice that the output power of the battery will decrease as you increase the rate at which you consume power.
Similar charges.
High charging rates for large capacity groups are more efficient.
Another advantage is that the larger the settings, the longer the duration.
More or more batteries will produce more stable voltage, thus improving the adjustment capacity of the inverter in high demand.
When it comes to the total amplifier
The hourly rating of the battery system is bigger!
The batteries are both internal and sometimes external. discharge rate.
Batteries that collect acid and dirt on the housing can drain the battery by leaking the current on the housing.
Inner self
Unloading rate is not a big problem.
Therefore, in order to maintain the life and health of the battery, they need to be kept clean, charged, and not used alone. Self-
Discharge is usually a problem only when the system is placed free for a few weeks at a time. (
If you have a weekend home or cottage and you are not always there, a small solar panel can keep floating charging on the system while you are away. )
There are several different types of structures for batteries used in alternative energy systems.
They are: Flooded lead acid (most common)
These batteries are like car batteries.
For solar use, they are designed for deep
It is recycled and therefore has a thicker plate and a larger electrolyte capacity.
They can be filled with water and produce a small amount of hydrogen when charging.
The term "drowning" The fact that the plate from the battery is surrounded by a liquid electrolyte.
These batteries inject the electrolyte into the fiberglass mat.
AGM stands for absorbing glass mats.
These are very safe and easy to handle, but the discharge is relatively shallow and the charging cycle is reduced.
They work best in systems where the battery is in floating mode or where deep discharge rarely occurs.
Not suitable for alltime off-the-grid use.
The sealed gel battery mixes the electrolyte with silica dust to form a fixed gel.
Like sealed AGMs, they are very safe and easy to handle, but the discharge is relatively shallow and the charging cycle is reduced.
They work best in systems where the battery is in floating mode or where deep discharge rarely occurs.
Not suitable for alltime off-the-grid use.
Cover for drowning batteries (Hydro-Caps)
It can be reassembled when oxygen and hydrogen are trying to exit the battery to reduce water loss and maintenance.
They also add security.
This makes the flooded cells the best option in my opinion.
Amortization cost of battery (
Cost of service divided by time)
The flooded cells are better.
My favorite brand is S-Rolls
600 is the best value available.
Battery charging monitor the most common and important accessory your system needs is the charging monitor.
This is a gas meter, if you like, to show you how low your battery is.
The TriMetric model 2020 display is a good example.
You can monitor how low the battery is in bad weather and if it is too low you can start the generator.
It lets you see how fast your battery is charging and helps you keep your finger on the pulse of the power system.
There are other good options, but be sure to see the charging status of the battery.
It will save more than the cost.
My monitor is gone, but it's a real life saver.
Weather problems can turn a blind eye to the actual state of the battery.
You can also see how much current your system is using, which can help you save power.
You can also see how much power the appliance uses by observing and turning on and off the appliance. Go solar!
