when (and where) solar led lighting makes sense - solar light price
Now, few businesses or real estate development companies will first consider using solar panels to run outdoor lighting, but in places where there is no fixed wiring, from an economic and efficient point of view, the emergency light does make sense.
I'm not talking just about emerging countries.
In the past six months, I have talked to two companies that have opened up the business market for these applications (
The residential market is a separate animal)
: Sol lighting, Palm City, Florida. -
A company specializing in outdoor LED lighting technology;
And clear blue technology in Toronto.
Manufacturers based on lighting control and other smart grid components are testing off-
Solar and wind-powered lights.
The overall size of the commercial outdoor lighting market is about $11 billion.
At this point, there is a clear shift in LED technology.
For example, in 2012, 54% of the 2 million lamps installed along roads and tunnels around the world were in LED format, and strategy Strategies in its January 2014 report on outdoor area and street lighting
