Ann Anra, founder of Waste Solutions, said that in Chennai, the project will start by distributing solar lights to female suppliers at Marina Beach.
"Hundreds of women vendors are selling fish, vegetables, snacks and other products on the coast.
Lighting is often inadequate, they have a hard time doing business in the dark, and many vendors spend a lot of money on petrol lamps and inverters, which is not a sustainable option.
But with the emergency lights, they will get more visibility and security at a lower cost and they don't need to worry about working aftersunset.
"The charging point will keep their phones charged and help them accept payments through their mobile wallet," she said . ".
Aakarsh said the portable lamps lamp was designed with the input he provided himself by street vendors.
